A Freelander question sir.

It looks as if you've taken the decoration/weight off the tie that holds the flap down....?

Is that for less flapping/thumping? Convenience? To keep from getting both sets of ties mixed up?

Ron,

I can't speak for Ham or David but I had my Freelander made that way on purpose. I didn't want it to be too busy or have too much "clickity click" going on when I walked. With that being said and the fact that in the last year and a half I gotten used to just how "busy" highland dress is, when I finally get around to ordering a brown Freelander I'm thinking the more bling the better.

(At least in that elegant Freelander way.)

You can indeed order them with all four or just two decorated, I decided to go all four, and it does not click that badly unless I am going at a good pace.
I never get the ties mixed up as the bottom ties hang much lower than the top.

I did add one of those small push button thingies (that you use camping and run lines through) to the ties that pull the top of the sporran closed. Talked to David about the idea. They'd thought of it but declined it, if I remember correctly due to tradition. I added one to both sporrans (about 50 cents in a camping store) because it keeps the top of the sporran from working open when I walk. Wasn't a problem...just wanted that bit of extra security.

You'll also notice in some of my pictures that I have this absent minded habit of taking my camera out of my Freelander for a photo and fogetting to close up the sporran before the pic. Thought it might help with that too.
