I'll have to ask Steve (graduate of Baker U., btw) if he has ever been to Cherryvale. How far is that from Iola?
In Iola (Allen Co.) there is a great museum to an American hero, Major General Frederick Funston:

I've been involved in some Spanish-American War living history events at the Funston home with my reenacting unit, the 20th Kansas, which is named in honour of Funston's "Fighting 20th".
