Is a Bowler acceptable
I have recently shaved my head so I am thinking of getting a hat. Having a fairly round head anyway I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard of a gent wearing a Bowler with a traditional kilt?

I've not seen it but I envision it being a clash of styles (just my opinion)
Are you opposed to Glengarry's and Balmoral type covers? They can be found in many colors with or without dicing (I prefer without)
Check out Penny's of Thunderbay, they don't show all the colors on their web site but email them and ask for their catalog. They'll email it to you promptly.

I'm with Cavscout, the styles would seem to clash. The only way I can envison pulling it off would be a solid black kilt (or pinstripe) with matching waistcoat and jacket, black or grey hose, and a tie.
If you dislike Scottish headgear I might suggest an Austrailian Slouch hat, I'm not sure why they work with casually worn kilts outfits, but they do.
Walkerk and Bunchdescendant also sport wide brimmed hats like these at times and look good. Plus at the Woodland Highland Games I saw an entire Pipe Band outfited with them.

blowers...
Australian Pipe Bands wear slouch hats quite frequently; I have seen several pictures of the Perh (W.A.) Pipe Band wearing a straw hat with the band emblem on the pugarree (pugari). And, many Scots in the Boer War picked up the habit of wearing Australian-style slouches on the South African veldt.
Bowlers, however, are best left to double-breasted pinstripe suits with regimental ties, one of my favourite outfits to wear to church and other occasions -- must dig out my bowler after work -- and be sure to include a brally with that!

Aye, they seem to at that.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Mrs. Peel optional (but highly desirable!)

A "Golf" or "Driving Cap" is always a good option!

Especially with tweed flat cap with a tweed jacket -- very "country/ghillie/horsey" looking!

I think a bowler would look pretty cool. I saw an old cartoon once of a old timer in a kilt and a bowler. Of course he was wearing braces to keep his kilt up too, so....

well with the weight I have lost I may need to use braces soon or I might end up with more exposed than bargaigned for
