Thanks for the kind words, Colin. The X-marks tartan is the result of many people's work, and the result is a beautiful tartan, and wonderful kilts worldwide.

My concern was not in "banners" per say. Certainly anyone can make an X-Marks tartan banner for home or the "home pub" or whatever. The banner can fly at events that X-Marks members hold, and are more-or-less exclusive to X-Markers and their guests, like our Nor Cal Burns Night. My concern was using a banner as part of a clan parade or other public event where it would be seen as "representing" X-Marks as an entity. My understanding of the policy as it stands now is that, for example, I would not set up a banner and distribute handouts promoting the site and distribute free (or a dollar to cover the cost of printing) X-Kilt manuals, at a Games or street fair. That would be beyond the guidelines set down by "the management".....A Banner ITSELF is totally fine, of course. It' s how it got used that would be the issue.

I didn't want someone to shell out fifty bucks for the cloth for a banner, show up at some Games somewhere, snap pictures of five X-Markers in the Games Parade and then get reamed on the forum for breaking policy. This is just a heads-up to anyone thinking about making a banner and using it to represent X-Marks in a public venue.
