    Sheep,
Any progress update on the kilt hose your mom is knitting? Has she had any problems with errors in the pattern? I am thinking about buying the pattern for myself.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Not a ton of progress yet, my Mum caught a cold. She does like the pattern. She had to do some tinkering because I have wee bonnie stick legs and the pattern is for a much bigger gentleman’s leg. And yes I have been running chicken noodle soup to her to speed her recovery!
I am going to see her this weekend at a family gathering so I ask her a few more questions for anyone interested in knowing about the pattern!

    Sara

Patterns and yarns do bring back memories - I have been making plain and/or ribbed hose for about 38 years - since I left home, and it can be really uncanny to find one, or sometimes even a pair tucked away at the back of a drawer or in a disreputable back pack and have it bring back memories of years ago, of places/people not visited for decades - some of whom might have the other sock...

Once knitted you can renew or repair the foot part for ages, so you do get good value from making hose.

I hope your Mum is soon feeling better Sara and clicking away once more.

Maybe you could take lessons and eventually be able to make some for yourself?
