A good, informative little video (especially concerning the length of the kilt). However, I do take ecception about the info on the sgian dubh. I don't understand why it should be worn on the right leg. I am left handed and that would do me no good. As far as I'm concerned, the sgian dubh should be worn on the leg that you feel comfortable with.

I thought it went on the right if you are right-handed and on the left if you are left-handed. Then again, I do understand that there really are very few rules about wearing the kilt and its accessories.

I am also left handed and I wear my sgian dubh on the left.
I live in Ore. not Scotland so I dress me and my kilt so I am confortable with it and my self. I have yet to have anyone complain about how I wear my kilts.
I don't tell people how to wear there trousers, so I guess if I offend some one
so be it. They can get there own kilts and dress to please them selves.

I remember someone insisting that the skean dhu goes in the right sock if you're coming in peace and left if you've got bad intentions, or maybe it was the other way around.

My culture has always been if you're not in a safe place, it's not to be seen. That's why it is called a hidden knife.

Go with left sock if you're left handed, right if you're right handed. It's meant to be at hand.

I am right-handed and don't wear (I hesitate to say carry) a sgian dubh at all. If I can ever think of a purpose for one, other than as evidence of conspicuous consumption, I will.
