I ain't Gothic, but I'm with Monkey, go with the Utilikilt black workman's. Here's a pic that shows the metal they give you to start with. A lot of folks add chains and spikes. Easy to do with the heavy material, your spikes won't droop....

I added patches on the pockets too. Heard of a lady who sewed trim along the hemline.
Of course, if you have the time and can afford it, look at the UK Leather Kilt along with the other leather kiltmakers. Robert at RKilts might even do some custom Gothic attachments when he makes it up...ask him.
