Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers. The interview went...oddly. It didn't go badly, but it sure wasn't what I thought I was in for. This interview was with a placement/recruiting/temp service. When they called me, they said they wanted me for a specific position. I went in and ended up doing a battery of skill tests for any number of positions and then was interviewed. The interviewer told me that they had several positions that they would consider me for, and that some of them were temp-to-hire, and some were just temporary and then I would get another assignment. I left their office having been told essentially to wait by the phone for their call, and to make sure I called every Monday to establish to them that I'm available for work.

Somehow I just don't think I'll be holding my breath.

You got a leg up on them already, with all the rain and hail that was around at that time, they know you are dedicated.

Well, I am now happily munching on a large portion of crow. The folks I interviewed with yesterday have called, and I start a new job at 0700 tomorrow!!!!

Very Very nice! Congrats.

I was placed in the company I work for now in a temp to hire position in just that manner. In December that will have been ten years ago.
