There were three others.
Like I said earlier, the groom (red tie) and the best man (black tie) decided to be kilted to respect me, which is kind of cool. The best man, I'm pretty sure, is Scottish born or, at least his parents are. He loaned his kilt to the groom and rented one for himself. The best man also persuaded his mom to let my grandson wear the kilt he had when he was the same age.
You can tell we share the same attitude to kilt rules: wearing a kilt alone is formal enough.
Best line: grandson was doing somersaults and one of the ladies commented that now she knew what we wear under the kilt. Best man said, "Yep, we all wear Huggees Pull-ups."

That picture of the RCR pipe band in maple lead tartan is spectacular (as the rest of the pictures on the RCR site). I've only seen one other picture of a pipe band in maple leaf, but these are by far the best.
The white tunics are so striking, and I love the sashes. Also, the red-and-green diced hose atop the spats are cool. I'm wondering where to get some, although as I look closely, I'm wondering whether the green matches that of the maple leaf.
Anyway, thanks for posting. I love all these pics.

Kiltstore lists "hose tops" or "half hose" in diced or tartan, I dunno how they go on. http://kiltstore.net/sr_strut_hosetops.html
