Looks like a good time. And some of those pip band uniforms are really swish.

Excellent pictures.
Obviously not Glasgow, Scotland, but Glasgow where exactly?
It looks like they have succeeded in staging an even bigger and better event than the originals held here in Scotland!

That would be Glasgow, Kentucky, USA. Scottish tradition runs very thick in the Southeastern US.

A review of the games
Now that you've seen the pics, let me tell you a little bit about them. These games were held in the Barren River State Park in Kentucky. This was my first time at these games, but deffinately not the last. They had other events that took place on Thursday and Friday, but they were held off site. I was not able to attend these events.
First off, the weather was hot and humid. You might be able to see the haze in the first set of pics. It seemed like I couldn't get enough water. And at the end of both days we were exausted. The athletic events included both amatuer and professional. And there were lots of clan tents. I hope to add one for Barclay next year. The food vendors were the usual two serving Scottish fare and then one serving BBQ. The merchandise vendors were a little lacking. There were lots of frontier type merchants, but only one selling highland wear. One that I had never seen before was selling home made root beer. He was serving it in these unique bottles of varying sizes. Most of the bottles you could bring back for a $1 re-fill. The root beer itself was OK. It is alot different than your usual commercial carbonated version. But it was cold and wet.
There were at least seven pipe bands. Its been a while since I had seen that many massed together. They were Wolf River (Memphis), Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Kentucky, Cincinatti, and Pittsburg. Seeing these bands togeter was a real treat.
The other musical entertainment included, Albannach, Seven Nations, Need Fire, Colin Grant Adams, and Father, Son and Friends. I preffered the folk styles of Colin and FS&F.
These are premier games in the southeast U.S. I was surprised at how big they were and they still have room to expand.
I hope to see you all there next year.

More excellent pictures. Looks like an absolutely amazing event. I'm really surprised to learn of such a large Scottish themed event held outwith Scotland.

GREAT pics, cousin! Sorry I couldn't make it this year, but I'll make a concerted effort to join you next year.
Is that Barclay hunting that you wear? Is that the one you made? Looks great!
