Barb, truly beautiful photos of a beautiful couple on their beautiful Wedding Day. I agree, the bride's gown is gorgeous, but so is the groom's kilt! I think I must have missed something, with your reference to a tartan swap with MacWage, but this one is so striking. What is it?
Wishing the happy couple a long and loving life together,

Tartan
That is the American Bicentennial tartan. Gotta put that one on my ever expanding list!
Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

It's the USA Bicentennial (now called the USA St. Andrews Society). Lochcarron used to weave it in Strome weight, but, when Ken decided on this tartan, I discovered, much to my dismay, that they no longer weave it. I posted a thread on this forum asking if anyone had any to sell. MacWage had gotten some on eBay awhile back, and he had more than he needed. I ordered some tartan that he wanted from Lochcarron, and we swapped. I love this forum!

Great pics Barb, They are a nice couple. It was a pleasure to meet the three of you last August. It looks like it was a beautiful day for you and them!

Wonderful pics, Barb. Your daughter looks beautiful and her husband looks like he was born to wear the kilt.
One question - is that a seal skin sporran? How did you smuggle it into the U.S.?

Nope - it's whatever they substitute to look like seal for import into the US. Got it from Rocky at USA kilts. It's beautiful!

It IS beautiful. Thanks for the tip on the vendor. I may have to take a look. I'm definitely getting a new formal wear sporran in the near future. My white one is nice, and it looked great at my wedding (complimented my wife's dress), but it just looks too bright to me when I wear it now.

Thank you for that Barb, and Zardoz. It is a beautiful tartan and one that I don't think I have ever seen before.
Oh, and I DO agree about this forum!

The Tartan still comes up occasionally on EBay. Usually about $15.00 a yard depending on the exchange rate. I got some a while back and had a kilt made. I love it but it is bright in daylight.
The pictures are great.
