OK, I've never been in the military, so I've got to ask - what the heck is "dinning?" Are people just spelling "dining" wrong, or is it truly a different word?

Three different people have used it in this thread, so I'm guessing it's not just a typo.

Yes, it's a DINING IN...! And I fondly remember them from my Army officer days (didn't own a kilt in those days, though). Great pics!

Sorry folks about the spelling. I am an infantry officer and a ranker to boot. That probably accounts for my lack of the finer social graces like good language skills.
