I almost forgot (actually I did), I love the teflon coating on the tartan. It makes sliding into the car so easy, I don't need to adjust the pleats except out of habit and if I'm ever stuck on the 401 in the height of summer I'd be able to fry some eggs on my kilt (probably should've got the air conditioning afterall!).

Nobody is waiting as much as me I assure you Grant!

I would have driven happily for longer than an hour but that isn't easy when there is no Atlantic bridge!

As to the post - depends whether or not it gets diverted for Customs assessment or not, certainly small packages have crossed pretty quickly.

But of course I will rush with the piccies asap upon arrival!

Grant - it looks great on you! Pete did a really great job because it fits you to a "T". Congrats on your new kilt!

As an aside, but as a testament to how beautiful this tartan, and these kilts are - I wore mine this past weekend at the Greenville (SC) Highland games on Saturday and to the ceilidh, parade and concerts on Friday night. During that time I had four separate people come up at different times to inquire about the kilt - something that's never happened to me before, even with much more expensive woolen kilts. You'll be getting kilt checked soon, my friend.

Chiming in late on this question, but I think I'm going to try to come up again. My lifting / games partner has shown some interest, as well, after talking to Corey this past weekend about the combination of kilts, games, camping with a great group and lots of frosty adult (Canadian) beverages. So there may be 2 of us coming up by train. We'll have to see. I will, of course, be in my Maple Leaf as it is quickly becoming my favorite.

    WOOHOO!!!
Just curious about other orders. I've asked Pete to size mine for traditional wearing. Grant, yours looks a little more like low rise. Anybody else going the trad route?

Mine actually fits slightly (almost an inch) above navel and as requested breaks at the knee. It is a traditional sort of casual. You are gonna flip over the colouring Mikey pictures we're posting just doesn't do it justice. MacHummel said that we would all be kilted before Canada day, though he's almost finished yours.

The great day of getting my Maple Leaf was yesterday!

There was a slight delay due to the posting weight and then they tried to deliver it Monday when I was away, so they left a card and I sped to the post office to collect it.

Here are some piccies that I have just managed to take by using my tripod and checking my camera manual about how to use the self timer. I would have preferred to take some outside but the weather was just too yukky and they were also taken without flash. Will try to get some outside ones when the weather permits! Note the Maple Leaf kilt pin in piccy #4!

Thanks for doing a great job McHummel!

Great pictures McClef you look quite pleased.

I have to go up to visit Pete tomorrow, and pick up mine and I can not wait.

Mike mine is a traditional cut as well, I am not sure if I would ever get used to a casual cut as every kilt I have ever worn has been traditional.
