So I saw the pics of the last scout thread and I remembered taking these a while back and never posting them.

tell me what you think, and if you think it would be appropriate for an Eagle Board Of Review with council?
(take into account that I have a solid black sporran now)

No you should wear complete class A uniform.
 Also the greens clash.

Our troop will not even give you a Board of Review out of uniform.

If you want to wear the kilt with a scout uniform, go to the Scotland Scout web site to see the correct way to wear a kilt with a uniform.

 I'm not stalking you! (LOL)

I followed your advice at this website: http://www.scouts-scotland.org.uk/default.asp?page=1

 Again google is my friend.
There is no easy way to find the information you offered our young man.
I looked into this thread because my grandson is a scout, and is surrounded by kilted men (Da, and grand Da.)

Our young man offered standard uniform with a dress tartan kilt instead of trousers. He needs a way to make it work. He needs more than "It clashes".
Not being a Scout leader I'm not sure what you terms of guidance are. I would hope that a question like this might be met with better than a subjective opinion.

It probably isn't appropriate as a scout uniform but I still think it looks great for non-official functions.

It may be of interest to scouters and others to see this site where one can order neckers (we used to call them neckerchiefs) finished articles in woolen tartans for no more than some places charge for an oddment swatch.http://www.scoutneckers.com/our/tartan/tartan.asp

I found it by chance when Googling Glenmore tartan and found they have it.

Personally, I think you look fine, but for a review try to get some 'formal' hose.
If you don't have any, get a pair of dark green soccer socks and they will usually work just as well. And try a pair of more formal shoes. Just black dress shoes are usually fine.
Then you'll look pretty smart and you have pictures from the above to use as a precedent for it being O.K. Scouting attire.

 Good luck!

I used to sit on Eagle Boards and have two Eagle Scout sons. Most councils have guidelines for reviews as do many troops. I would check with the Troop Eagle coordinator if they have such, or scoutmaster and get their opinion.
Personally, I agree with Mark - should be class A uniform.

is there a kilt that would go better? would the Irish Saffron do better?
I am going to be going out to sometime and getting scout socks that are much bigger.

Oh well. I prefer the kilt to the class A shorts.
I have me BOR scheduled for July 2. Funny though, I might not be to responsive. I will have my wisdom teeth out 3 days prior. I might even still be a bit drugged up. hehe.

also, in my council, I know guys who have received their eagle wearing a Class A shirt, jeans, and no Neckerchief. so I am not so concerned. my district advancement chair is a nice guy that I have known for some time.
