from Hawick, the home town of Scocha,in the Scottish Borders.
No need to be Scottish to wear a kilt.
The cheap lightweight polycotton and acrylic kilts at £19.99 on e-bay are OK for around the house and garden and going to the shops but wouldn't really look good for a more formal occasion - that said I have worn a polycotton kilt to dinner in an English hotel during a heatwave and it was very comfortable and didn't attract any comments.

You are more than welcome here Scottish or no.
As far as ebay kilts I have never ordered one from any ebay seller. I do like to go into my local Tartan/Kilt shop for a kilt or talk to my kilt maker, that seems to work for me, in that way I get exactly what I want.

Also, I am not Scottish either, as you can see from my signature line below.

Welcome aboard from Snellville, Georgia! (no, the other one... )
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Welcome to the fray, from Colorado Springs!
And to echo the sentiment of many here, You don't need to be Scottish to wear a Kilt. I've been able to trace my ancestry back to Germany, Poland, and Yorkshire, but I still proudly wear a Kilt.

A warm welcome from the hightides of northern Norway!
I'll be in York a fortnight in September, so there will be at least one kiltie not too far off from Bradford...

from Edinburgh. As the welcome screen says you don't need to be Scottish just daft about kilt-wearing.
