From KiltedMusicLover deep in the post:
"Well we are less than 3 weeks away. I have been giving this thought and
I think you are right about having several times scheduled.
How about this:
For those going up Friday lets meet up at say 2: 15 at the
Harp tent. Why at the Harp tent??
Well our very own Matt Newsome has
competed in the Lochaber Trump (jaw harp) and won this at least twice.
He was also a judge last year.
Matt are you going to Judge or compete this year???
Friday evening is a good time to see folks at the Celtic Jam.
What if we meet up at say 6:00 at the Clan Wallace tent with a flask and have a little single malt tasting??
The Concert does not start until 7pm.
(Although if you want a good seat, I would suggest you go ahead and and place you chair down in front of the stage by around 5pm or before.)
On Saturday let's say 1 pm near the same
Harp tent just to keep things simple."
There ya go.

I just wanted to post a quick and heartfelt "Thanks" to all those who attended the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and gave Barleyjuice such a wonderful reception. The "Southern Hospitality" is no myth!
Apart from the work that we had to do... the people were MORE than hospitable, giving, and well natured.
When you're invited to attend these festivities in the future, please make the effort to do it for you AND your family. The entire weekend is well-run, well-organized, and hosted with the attendee in mind.
Just remember that if you choose NOT to wear a kilt (and Lord knows why you would do something so dumb) you will be in the minority!!!

I can't speak for the rest of the XMarks attendees, but I felt that BarleyJuice was by far the most exciting band on the bill all weekend. No disrespect to Albanach, but they come up every year, and (personal opinion here, don't get your feathers ruffled) all their tunes begin to sound alike after a while (and their fan-base are downright annoying).
Jimmy and the boys tore it up good, and I hope they can find a way to be in this area again very soon! Perhaps this Nancy lass will come along next time too, eh?

Look carefully behind the Barleyjuice Merchandise Table next time to see the rather tall and lovely red-headed lass that "will drink you on your ****!" That's the infamous Nancy (Drinks Tequila).

Really? Well, next time around, I will have to get a photo taken with the lovely Nancy, and an autograph! I'll fill my flask with good tequila first!

Hi everyone, we played at grandfather mountain last year and loved it. We had other commitments this year but hope to be back on the mountain sometime soon.
Cheers
