shot a 99 so not a bad day at all for me I don't golf that often. I was hitting my irons better than ever just could not drive the ball staight.
No kilted regiments in the US Army that I know of I know we don't have any in the Navy, I think we should though there is a Navy Tartan that looks pretty nice.

There also happens to be an army tartan I believe. Now I'll lay off the seaman jokes if you lay off the army remarks, lol.

Got to wait until Tiger Woods wears a kilt out on the course for a major tournament...nothing in golf is official until Tiger Woods does it...

I've been longing to get out and wear the kilt on the links. I figger that the UASK casual Hunting Stewart will be perfect. I'll bet that I'll get the same sort of attitude that you alluded to but what the hell. Just haven't been NEAR a golf course yet this year...how sad is that?

Don't think military affiliation had any bearing here. That fellow has cross service potential. Well handled.

Way to go with the restraint. Some people just insist on making asses of themselves.

And I should add that he obviously doesn't know that Navy divers are some pretty tough hombres. Those of us who sailed in diesel submarines have nothing but regard for the guys who might have had to get us out.

You know, I'm in Iraq surrounded by Australians and not one piper have I heard. Must be hiding them someplace. I could really use an experienced piper to help me out.

I think you'll probably only see pipes & drums on ceremonial occasions (ANZAC Day) etc. Historically, though, there is a strong connection between Australian & Scottish military traditions. Alpha (Scottish) Company 2/17 Royal New South Wales Regiment, a reserve unit here in Sydney, being one example.

If you ask around, you may find that some of the Diggers in Iraq are ex-2/17, so you might find a piper among them. Also, you may be in luck if any of them are ex-Scots College, as they have a fine pipe band (the Scots Old Boys are pretty good too).

    Stay safe.
