Below is an excerpt from the wikipedia entry about Pantone Colours, as a graphic artist I work with Pantone colours everyday, simply put the Pantone Matching System or PMS is a way of ensuring that company logos and alike are printed consistently. Sometimes if you use 4 colour process for printing there can be differences throughout a print run.

Pantone Inc. is a corporation headquartered in Carlstadt, New Jersey, USA. The company is best known for its Pantone Matching System (PMS), a proprietary color space used in a variety of industries, primarily printing, though sometimes in the manufacture of colored paint, fabric and plastics.

I saw this thread and counted flags on poles on my way home. My criteria were If I saw it driving it counted. It's a ten mile drive mostly country after the first mile. My Daughter also counted and came up with one more than my 79 poles flying flags. More than half the homes in this small military town were flying the Stars and Stripes.

I purchased my Flags at various events over the years until I found a complete Seven Nations set on ebay. I usually try to fly the flag of guests in residence because it usually is the best way to tell them how to find my house. So over the years I've amassed a good collection. So anyone visiting from obscure countries, states of provinces should send a flag in advance. O'Neille
