I think that you should change your kilt hose to either black or a darker color of the tartan. I don't have anything against white kilt hose but with the white shirt and the white jacket it is just too much white. Cavscout mentioned a solid black kilt above. What I think he is getting at is the balance of the white shirt and white dinner jacket with the solid black pants. The reason that formal outfit works is the nice balance of dark and light. You are introducing not only the tartan but more white into the mix. I think black formal kilt hose might help with the balance. I would also change out the cumberbund for a dress belt.
