Another question: never haing seen a woman's 'kilt' at close quarters, do the pleats run in the same direction as ours? I just wondered since the aprons are obviously reversed.
The pleats, in this one at least, run in the same direction and it still has the reverse pleat as well.
Having cut off a good length of fabric from this one I could measure it afterwards and it came out at 7 1/2 yards. So there is a good bit of fabric in this ladies Kilt. Although, I have seen some with far fewer yards than that.
It's a lovely tartan and I'm happy with it, even if it is a fairly light-weight kilt.
