    I doubt it, they are probably property of one of the museums or more likely part of the collection at Windsor Castle since he was the Queen's Uncle.

    He was the king, but he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson a divorcee, then his brother, the present queens father, became king.

    Wallis Simpson was American and I believe they lived in France, so his things could be anywhere.

    I doubt that his clothes would be state property, at least following his abdication, but what he took with him on his travels afterwards is a good question.

    Yes they lived in Paris after the war. I can't remember if the Duchess sold off any of his effects after his death but there was certainly a big auction of hers following her death.

    Can anyone ID the tartan of the kilt that's pictured with the houndstooth jacket? The color photo on the mannequin, that is. I really like that tartan.
