    Walking the Welsh Countryside

Fri and Sat we went out on long walks in the countryside. Taking it easy today, then going off on another trek tomorrow. Anyhow here's a few pics from Fri/Sat

The weather was glorious and the countryside looking really green when we arrived at the starting point on Fri.

Soon we arrived at the reservoir ..

Yesterday (Sat) we took off early .. our intetion to go to a little remote pub which is really hard to find. Unknowns to us, they were holding a small beer festival over the bank hol's .. so it made the trek even more worthwhile.

This pic was taken about an hour or so after we started the walk

Further on again and taking a small breather .. the rest of our gang were lagging well behind ... we all arranged to meet up at the pub

A pic of those who made it to the pub ... the others got lost, did their own thing and we all got together again back home

The view from a side window of the pub ..

Great pics, Derek, and its nice to be blessed with some summer weather at last.
I've seen the Brecons from the air often enough but never explored them on foot. Next time I come to Cardiff I really must explore further up the valley beyond the train terminus at Rhymney!

WOW Derek, thank you for sharing you trip with us. Those are nice photos.

Then we took to a forestry track

We were soon in the shade, it was now getting pretty hot (well by UK standards that is)

Eventually we walked for a few miles down this little lane

Eventually making it to the main road and here

With scenery like that, it is only a given to go for a little walk. Excellent shots as usual Derek.
