    New Dirk

OK, I know it's kind of "RenFair-ish", but I bought a new dirk, from eBay.

Nothing elaborate, nice simple celtic design, with red stone, that matches my sgian dubh.

Nice dirk. You say you found it on ebay? I'll have to start searching ebay.

It's a good looking dirk and closer to the way they were originally. Here are some from the Edinburgh museum for comparison -

Quite a nice looking item, & a pleasant change from the knock-off piper's dirks with "India" stamped all over them. Hmmmm, maybe back to ebay for me too

I don't think it looks ren-fairish at all. It's quite nice.

Do the kilted world a favor, though, and only wear it when you're dressed formally.

    First chance I get.
I'm meeting up with my brothers, for a kilted weekend... one of them is a camera-hound... I'm sure he'll snap a few.

I like very much! I saw one like that recently at a weapons shop. I just can't remember where...
