Hi Y'all,
The kind postman brought a parcel from my father, which included the following. I'll trace the hallmark when I have time and try to find the original maker. The emblem is a sterling silver thistle. The guard is a whopping piece of brass. There's a slight amount of pitting on the spine, which tells me that it's been around a while. I would include more pic's but the MicroMackenzie has drained the camera batteries.
I'll find some suitable wood and craft a sheath this summer.
Here's a more detailed shot, showing the unusual handle. The blade appears to be fairly standard, with the shape you would expect, deep fullers on both sides, and ordinary file work. The handle is rather thin by the guard- which is quite large.
Cheers.
Kevin.
