    Are you Scottish/Irish?
    Aren't you warm/cold?
Where are your pipes? They're in the car. Would you like me to go get them? I only use this one after my lessons, when I actually can go get them.
Do you play the pipes? What I do can't really be called "playing." That usually gets a good look.
    Is there a parade today?
    Why are you wearing that?

And my all time personal favorite - "Is that legal to do in public?"

I got one today, "is there a highland games on today" Not that I'm aware of was the reply, then walked away before she could ask why.

This will sound odd, but I have had people ask questions or make comments about t-shirts that I was wearing with kilts while making no notice of the kilt. I have never had a comment about a shirt while wearing pants or shorts so I was a bit surprised at this. This has happened at least 5 or 6 times now and the shirts are never anything special.

    Yeah, that gets weird.
I was at a festival and my wife and her sister were a little bit behind me. In between was a couple of guys. The guys were really upset with my Relick's t-shirt that says Swords never need reloading. Lot of blather about guns, nothing about how good my kilt looked from behind. Not that I want their opinion on that either.

    "BECAUSE I CAN" !!

I was at my regular printers during the CA heatwave. 110o ; a fellow customer said, as I was leaving; "I bet this is hotter than Scotland"; I said "I wouldn't have a clue - I'm Australian". The printer roared with laughter at the confused look on this guys face as I left. I heard him say; 'Lots of guys wear kilts these days, catch up man!'

I must be an exception; I don't find most questions irritating, and enjoy the opportunity they offer.
I agree intirely. I also think that, "I hoped the other women upstairs are better looking" is dead witty. Just because a joke is at your expense does not make it any less witty. I would have just replied that there would be no more drinks for that one.

Probably the most common is "Are you Scottish?" No, I'm American with a little Scottish blood.

I also get "Is there something going on today?" I don't know, did I miss something?

"Do you play the bagpipes?" No, do you?

"Why are you wearing a kilt?" Because I feel like it.

When people ask if I play the pipes, I usually reply:

    "That depends on who's listening."

    or:

    "I call it playing."
