    I dont think it matters if you are talking about Argyll,Crail or the Balmoral jacket,we( I )think of them as a variation of the same theme.As I said the TWEED version of "the Argyll"is regarded as a jack of all trades.Dont forget that they are loosely based on a military cut so they are tailored to a snug fit.Not much good for shooting Grouse or deer stalking or any other casual but vigorous pastime.That is why we then resort to shirts and pullovers.The members of the non kilt wearing world would,perhaps, resort to a looser fitting sports coat.

    Best source of grandfather collar shirts, many in styles that go very well with kilts, are western wear stores, particularly stores like Wild West Mercantile that cater to reenactors. The price is right, they're often available in linen. I think the website is www.wildwestmercantile.com if you don't have a store near you. If I'm wrong on the web addy google up some. Think there's a Texas Jack's too...and many others. Or check the ads in True West Magazine.
