My father occasionally flew Spits for the RAF in 1942...but mostly he flew Hurricanes. Was on the Dieppe Raid. Of course that was after the Battle of Britain, but he was a Montana boy over there before the U.S. forces arrived. Some noble notion of defending the ancestoral homeland.
