I don't know about the sqiffy link/logo (I am ashamed to say that it had not even registered in my consciousness), but I will admit to never having tasted Irn-Bru - even with so many visits north of the border under my belt! I am not really a soft drink sort of guy (cannot bear Cola, etc) but I guess I should try this one on my next trip .......... wonder if they have it on tap at The Ferintosh?!!!

Sounds like Robertson simply has underground pipes running directly from the distilleries...he probably has one running from the Irn Bru plant as well.

Hamish - Irn Bru has been available south of the border for some time now and should be available in your local supermarket.

Really? Thank you for pointing that out Trefor. I never visit those soft drink aisles - or if I do, I am whizzing down them so fast (to check the current Gin best-buys) that I do not look at the shelves!!
I will make a point of slowing down on Thursday when I do my weekly 'shop'! Thanks again.

Hamish,
You must stop there, if nothing else to replenish your supply of tonic water!
(Says Panache who makes a visit to said aisle for this very reason )
Cheers

Ah, but Jamie, our supermarket (Tesco) does things differently! When I require a case or three of tonic waters, I visit the tonic water/bitter lemon/soda water and mineral waters aisle. The Irn-Bru is tucked away in another aisle which is devoted to all those revolting, sugary, gaudily coloured, so-called fruit drinks, lemonades and colas so beloved by those who have previously destroyed their taste buds!
Which reminds me, I must go and do a stock-take of my tonic waters......

Fine! So I made a point of treating the soft drink aisle at Tescos this morning as I would any other aisle of interest - and, yes, there I saw Irn-Bru. However, they seem to stock only the Irn-Bru 'Light' ...... and it is in a plastic bottle!! I bought one of them (£0.79) to try, but I am somewhat a'feared of doing so now that I have it in the 'fridge. I suspect the 'light' version will be but a pale imitation of the original. Nevertheless, I will pluck up the courage to open it at the weekend.
If you do not hear from me again, you will know what has happened....
