Ok... is it too tacky to use the sporran hanger that hangs from the Kilt Belt? Yes, I realize the belt usually isn't worn with a Prince Charlie Jacket, but for anything else kinda dressy? I personally like the hangers that hang from my kilt belt better, but just wanted to know what everyone else thought.

    Thanks,
    Scott

I would not do it but thats me. I would say if you are going this route, then no waistcoat.

IMHO, I don't think the sporran hangers look right for formal wear even if you are not wearing a waistcoat. I think I understand why people like them (although I don't) but I think they better suited for casual outfits.

For formal evening wear, that wouldn't look dressy to me, so I vote No!

Since you asked, I think those things look awful with ANY outfit. On a formal rig, they'd be horrid.

    Arlen, your chain looks great!

    Wonderful work, Arlen.

This reminds me... I've been thinking about making a strap very similar to this:
    .

That chain was made with Inconel and Copper, but I have some silver plated metal around here somewhere. I could do that same style weave.

Great chain, Arlen! I've looked at Celtic style chains before and found them horribly expensive, this looks like a nice alternative.

Kilted Brewer, Arlen is wearing the MacDonald tartan in Modern Colours.
