    Black Stewart to the stripe

I'm considering having a Black Stewart kilt sewn to the stripe, but I'm not sure which stripe to use. Does anyone have any thoughts or pictures?

    Regards,

    eric

My Black Stewart is to the sett, however you do have quite a few options with any Stewart tartan. I would suggest consulting your kilt maker with the options you had in mind.

You want my opinion? I say to the red. But in truth, it's a black stewart. It will look incredible no matter how you have it done. Welcome to the board!

You could have it so the pleats have mainly red reveals - I think that is to a white stripe.

There are the white and yellow stripes together - but I don't think they will look right.

However you might consider one of the blue stripes to get the red to flash as the kilt swings. It all depends on how much contrast there is between the blue and the background of your actual fabric, too little and the stripe will be invisible. That might be a bit sedate though.

Nothing is better than taking the actual fabric and folding it to see just how it will look in a particular pleating.

From Fort Lauderdale Florida - temprarily! I have two Black Stewarts, One pleated to set and one pleated to stripe. (The yellow ) and I must say that I like pleated to stripe better. It makes for a very striking kilt!

When I get back, I will post some flix.
