Who was the Einstein that planned a kilt night on the weekend before a major party holiday? My kids are having a party that night, as well as several of my friends and cowerkers.

I'd happily head up to Springs anytime, I'm there every couple weeks anyway

I don't know WHO originally came up with this brilliant date, but sounds like nobody is going to be able to make it...

Thanks for the welcome. We are a bit late at tracing down our heritage, I'm 45 and my wife.....younger than I.
There have always been rumors about Douglas in my family, but it took our first visit to the Estes Park Highland festival this year to light the fire.
Now both my wife and I have both found our roots back to Scotland. What a noble and proud people!
I think we are driving our daughters nuts with our newly found passion and continual Celtic music in the house. Alex Beaton is fantastic!
My wife is even drinking Guinness now along with Coors Light!
Thanks again and hopefully we can meet and I can learn more from you folks.

Next year stop and say "Hi" I work the piping competition over at the Southeast end of the grounds on Sat afternoon and Sun morning.
Alex is good but I really enjoy Seamus Kennedy and Oceans Apart. Albannach, the celtic rock band that was at the big tent between the rodeo arena and the main grounds, is also good. If I read the web site correctly, it looks like they will be there again next year.
Now we need to get you two over to Single Malts

We will definitely stop by.
We went to the 'folk' concert on Saturday night; Alex, Seamus and Oceans Apart. Seamus cracks us all up. I love "Budweiser Back In The Clydesdale". The Holiday Inn was NOT the place to get sleep that night. Luckily we were staying at the YMCA of the Rockies.
We also enjoyed The Elders.
You may have a bit of an issue getting single malts to go down; psychological barrier based on too many wild nights in my younger years. Just the smell can cause near vomitting. Oh well.
Definitely looking forward to next year. Plus we will celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2009 and are going to Scotland to renew our vows.
Look forward to mmeting many of you.
