    Making my own Kilt.

I am following the directions to make a X-Kilt.....I have to say some of it is very confusing....does anyone know of any site that can give me good instructions with diagrams?

I'm sorry if you're having problem! You can always ask questions here or e-mail me at

    alanhsails at yahoo dot com

The X-Kilt manual is what it is. There are some threads here in the DIY section where members outline their efforts on making an X-Kilt, you could search for those.

I am about to buy a new digital camera, so maybe the next "edition"...such as it may or may not be, will have pictures.

The Book....meaning the Art of Kiltmaking, is a whole different ball of wax from my X-Kilt manual. The Art of Kiltmaking is a treatise on tartans, a blow-by-blow methodbook for making a traditional kilt, and even a little bit of an introduction to significant parts of Scottish Culture.

The X-Kilt manual is a manual, using as many non-sewing terms and techniques as I could come up with, to make a contemporary kilt....no culture, no tradition, just a ""how-to" for the compleat idiot, as seen by moi.
