James, I think we're flattered that, in spite of the charges you're incurring to use the internet, you're keeping us posted.
Par-tee on, man! Sounds like good times.

Well, I'm back home, and my house didn't burn up. We didn't find out about the fires in the San Diego and L.A. area until they were well under weigh (and we were under weigh too.) -and then only from other passengers who asked if our house was OK. CNN on the ship was based in China (Taiwan) and was low on details. We spent a worried few days trying to find out info.
I started calling all my friends and neighbors. Found many that had been evacuated, and staying with others. My house could have been used as a refuge, but we didn't know, and by the time we found out, all were settled in other places.
Now all are back in their homes, and none of my friends or Lodge Brothers got burned out. That is the good news.
The bad news is that the air quality sucks! Burning eyes, noses and throats seem to be the norm. Everyone seems to have a smokers cough.
The firefighters had and are having a really rough time, and my hat goes off to these brave men who choose that profession!
As to the cruise, it was fun! I took over 600 flix and will glean out some to post.
Traveling on a cruise ship kilted is a blast! Makes new friends faster and great for starting conversation.
It will take me a few days to get caught back up on the posts, but I'll get there.

The two times I have been kilted on a cruise, I was the only one there. You would think that of all the men on a cruise, at least one other would wear a kilt sometime, like at least formal night.

That is certainly true. I only wore my kilt on formal nights on my last cruise, and I think I had my picture taken with at least half of the people on board. Between my singing at the karaoke nights, participating in the talent show, and wearing the kilt on formal nights, just about everyone on board knew me.

On the cruise I was the only one who wore kilt all the time, there was one guy who wore a leather UK for everything except wallclimbing and formal night and one guy who wore a prince charles outfit with a blackwatch kilt for formal night.
