Mr. December

I made Mr. December in the Nevada Scottish Clans Calender. The jacket I am wearing in an (authorized) altered US Army service coat. The kilt is an old 6th Army band kilt. They went defunct in 1961. They were based out of the Presidio of San Francisco. The 91st Div pipe band inherited their gear and I was privelaged enough to inherit this kilt.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the CA and OR National Guards had pipe bands at one point, but now I don't remember the source.

Does the 7th Cav still maintain its pipers?

Various Scottish groups in NY were pushing the Gov. to reinstate the 79th NY Highlanders from Civil War days with updated Highland kit, but to my knowledge, nothing has been done with it. If the Irish get the 69th, then the Scots should too!
