Formal Sporran Chains

Arlen that looks wonderful, so much better than the chain belts that come with sporrans, good for you. How did you sort out the back is there a buckle back there?

Arlen, you did a good job.

There were formal chains for sale at the Stone Mountain games recently for US $ 58 to 62, but they were all poorly made with flaws in the chrome plating and some had very sharp corners that would tear into wool fabric in no time at all.

But it does inspire one to keep an eye out for suitable chains.

Forgive the bad picture, but it was taken on my phone.

I basically took the bad old chain off of the old leather straps and put the nice new chain on in its place.
It's nice and smooth so it doesn't wear on my sporran any more than my leather belt.

I thought that is what you did, I am thinking about doing something like this myself but I might want to redo the leather as well.

Very nice. I am making new sporrans for two of my friends for Christmas presents. I might have to try that. (Silly friends want Star Wars themed sporrans, wife of one said for me to make them "non-geeky" whatever that means!)

Those are great ideas but I think a little out of my skill range. I am going with black paten leather type material and military look the imperial one, and a brown Rob Roy style one for the rebel alliance one. I'll post pics after Christmas. Sorry Arlen for the highjack.
Make sure there are lots of wedding pictures posted (Yes I am a girl, and I do like to see wedding pictures, especially ones with tartan in them!)

I drive my wife crazy as we walk through stores. I'm constantly stopping and looking at things being displayed and saying now that could be adapted as a ??????? and would look good with the ??????? kilt.

Good adaptation of materials.

Since you asked, I think those things look awful with ANY outfit. On a formal rig, they'd be horrid.
