It is made to be a letter opener. I guessed its aluminum. sort of a sgian don't.

I like it for the message the handle sends sticking out of the top of the kilt hose. Semper Fi. Would be cool if one were made with real steel.

Kathy Lare's husband Rob gathered up a few of the "letter opener" ones and made leather sheaths for them with the EGA logo. He was selling them at her booth at games a few years ago.
