I think the kidder kilts do fit a certain frame although I do somewhat doubt their 10% taper claim. I have one of their Blackwatch kilts which I bought to assess the product and it is well made, as are all their products by the way. I feel the taper is not enough compared to other off the rack kilts and I am not in love with the fact that the front apron doesn't taper either. As shown in your picture.

A major thing they do have going for them though, is they can be ordered in various lengths, unlike most off the rack kilts. This is one kilt I think could be made much better with just a few differences in design that shouldn't change the price much.

I am confident, from having spoken with Randy Kidder at length and found him to be both totally responsive and a true gentleman, that he would welcome all feedback and suggestions. In fact, we have agreed that I will now begin taking email orders to my mensplace@bellsouth.net email for those special orders that require lengths other than the standard 22.5 inches.
Initially, on the eBay site at MENSPLACE, we had limited ourselves to taking orders for those that I have in stock and can ship immediately, but we have received so many requests for longer lengths from folks willing to wait the 2 to 3 weeks for special orders, that we have now arranged take such special orders directly. Meanwhile, we have a large new shipment of the Black Watch already being made to expedite those who can wear the standard sizes.
Personally, even as we continue to add new distributors, I would love to see Randy continue to grow his line of affordable and very well made styles! His quality has very much impressed me, but I am well aware that we all have different preferences. What I greatly appreciate is his willingness to turn around orders in far less than the eight weeks required by another line that I have on the way and his responsiveness to our needs and concerns.
Above all, the primary goal at MENSPLACE is to maintain the 100% satisfaction level that we have worked so hard towards; quickly approaching the 100 mark on my new store and almost 1000 on the store my wife and I launched jointly. With a totally international clientele, THAT takes some dedication. maybe with a few new styles, distributors, and some support MENSPLACE will some day become a source for a broader range of Celtic wear and accessories that was born RIGHT HERE.

Hopefully, some day, we will be able to place our own fine little store amongst the ranks of the other fine advertisers here.
