Oh, nice! I hadn't seen the pics. looking very nice. I've thought of getting a 22 oz. but I'm on the short side, and don't think that I could get one which would work for me.

Both my parents are teachers. I'm trying to get my teaching degree in history. Don't even get me started on No Child Left behind... Talk about raping the school system... What MORON thought that piece of crap was a good idea?

Tell me about it! we're forcing mediocrity... we drag the "slower" kids along, kicking and screaming, without ever catching them up, and we hold the "bright" kids back, rather than encouraging them to use their brains... Standards-Based education is great.

Kilt and teaching
I am glad I am retired. Glad I don't have to go through being measured and measuring those who worked for me. I have a teacher in the family and understand the routine you have to go through even though it is in Canada.

I'm prone to agree but I do think it has a few (one? two?) benefits. At least now people care about the special ed students. My mom's been teaching Special Ed for 30 years at High School and now at the Elementary School level. Regardless of the level, she had a hard time getting collaborating teachers and others who had her students to take the special ed students seriously and to care about them. Now if the special ed student is struggling the schools pay attention at least, because they can't ust ignore them.
I'm not trying to justify the whole system or anything. Just hoping maybe you're experiencing this benefit too. Good luck and thanks for working with students others find too challenging to deal with!

No child left behind is great, it ensures that everyone gets a C- education. Up with mediocrity. Think about it, no more "brains" to get beaten up behind the gym. No more kids feeling bad about themselves because they are dumb. What could be better .

I have to disagree about the NCLB being the cause of mediocrity. I've listened to family members who are/were teachers for the past 30 years and have heard the same complaints. The problem to me is a National Dept of Education doling out federal dollars. Keep it at the state and local level where it belongs so each school system is accountable to local people. I'm off the
More power to you for helping with those kids that most want to forget about. As long as you maintain your professionalism it's tough through you under the bus unless they do a wholesale clearing of the ranks. In the end, I think dedication and professionalism will win out.

Teachers not cooperating happens at all levels. You should hear my dad rant... He's a media specialist. His whole purpose is to teach research skills.
