My mom's been teaching Special Ed for 30 years at High School and now at the Elementary School level. Regardless of the level, she had a hard time getting collaborating teachers and others who had her students to take the special ed students seriously and to care about them. Now if the special ed student is struggling the schools pay attention at least, because they can't ust ignore them.
I'm not trying to justify the whole system or anything. Just hoping maybe you're experiencing this benefit too. Good luck and thanks for working with students others find too challenging to deal with!
Teachers not cooperating happens at all levels. You should hear my dad rant... He's a media specialist. His whole purpose is to teach research skills.
