It is funny how things work out...Cleveland was a different branch of Sisters of St. Joseph until last spring, then they united with us and five other Sister of St. Joseph congregations to form one large, new Congregation of St. Joseph! The official decree from the Vatican was "promulgated" on March 19, 2007...the Feast of St. Joseph!

AND...a group of us is travelling to Cleveland tomorrow for a three day Sister of St. Joseph meeting (if the weather holds out, that is!).

I taught with a delightful IHM Sister in the Detroit area for a couple of years...a really spunky old gal!

If I may ask are the Sisters of St Joseph also part of the group that is here in St. Louis, I ask this only because reading this thread has brought back some good memories for me.
Many years ago I was a Field Supervisor for a large security firm here in St. Louis and one of my accounts was the Mother House for the Sisters of St Joseph of Carondolet.
I would go by there late at night to check on the guard there and every once and a while one of the older sisters would come out and have coffee with us and before she left she would always tell us a little joke then giggle and walk off.
I still remember her to this day..

YES!! Well, they aren't part of the new congregation, BUT, our Sisters started their history in the U.S. at Carondelet! The Carondelets are our original American mothers...we all came from them and eventually spread out over the entire country. Carondelet was our first establishment upon arriving from France.
