A woman who makes kilts and sgian dubhs (and if I remember, whose mother knits kilt hose) - next time I go up to Alexandria Bay, I'll have to cross the St. Lawrence and make your acquaintance.

Update
Just a little update...
Sunday I hope to get a fair bit more accomplished. I also purchased a few blank balsa wood boxes to use as presentation boxes. I have some good foam-like material that I thought I could shape to hold the knife and a kilt pin, and then cover the foam with velvet. I don't know what I may do with the outside of the box. I would like to stain it a dark colour, but I will have to test that out. Then all I have to do is make the name plates for the presentation box.
Fingers crossed this all works,
Sara

That's what I was thinking. I am going to try the stain on the bottom of one. If it does not turn out I'll keep that box and figure out what to do with the rest.
I can't wait till this weekend to get started!

Update!!
I had to put off my project for a few weeks (Sick dog, but he is ok now and too many hours at work!) The boxes are finished, both inside and out. The two antler Sgian Dubhs are finished (The Jedi one and the one I made for myself) I just need to sew the sheaths up. The wooden handle one (The Empire) is all glued up and stained. I just want to add some wax to the handle before I put the little emblem on it.
Hopefully everything will be finished before our gift exchange on Saturday.
I'll post pics on Sunday hopefully.

Who set up shop in her apartment's utility room to work out of the 20 inches of snow outside!

Agreement, ya know a Maple Leaf tartan kilt is an indoor project ... ol buddy ol pal ...
(actually if I can get Steve to throw me a set of measurements like he did the other day for that other guy{know what I mean ?} I'll do it myself when I get some fabric)
My friend Chris {Devil's Canyon/Bay Area rabble}sent me a bunch of pictures of the Thousand Islands, said he wants to retire there (dude, you're younger than me, shut up ), quite a place !
If you've got a pub, I'll make the effort to get there.

I am very lucky to live in such a beautiful place, even if that place is covered in a whack snow. We actually have one really nice pub, one iffy Irish one in town and a new English pub opening in the New Year. If I get a camera for Christmas I might have to do one of those nifty photo essays.

Who if her stinking WalMart did not take out their fabric department, would have sent some ML material to CT and a few others.
