I'm not a fan of over-produced smooth jazz. Give me the 50's bebop club jazz any day! Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Lionel Hampton, Thelonious Monk, Vince Guaraldi, Chet Baker, Bill Charlap, Benny Carter, Barry Harris...

The best jazz is usually played in a dark club by a trio. Bass, drums, and a guy with chops like you've never heard. And the best thing about live jazz is that it's never the same thing twice.
