wouldn't a Buddist tartan have to incorperate all tartans?

for they are "one with everything"

Oh, I don't think you would have anything to worry about pipesndrumsnun. It's all just silly talk anyway. It is interesting to think about tartans that end up in other cultures and all. The people I grew up around, Navajo and Zuni, kind of have their own types of tartan like weaving. It's all fun.

For some reason this idea has come to be identified with Buddhism. It isn't. In all of the schools of Buddhism monism ("All is one") is either refuted or said to be not the most profound view. The highest Buddhist view is neither "all is one" nor "all is many." It is dependent origination, the view that all things arise, abide and dissolve in dependence upon other phenomena, rather than existing solidly, inherently or eternally.

The tartan is all in your mind, and you don't know how big your mind really is.

So I guess what I am getting from this is that there is no Buddhist tartan, there can never be a Buddhist tartan, and every tartan is a Buddhist tartan.
