To those who have asked, it all to do with the new RRS Dress Regs. "Friday Dress" was something specific to the Black Watch where you wore Trews and chained spats rather than long spats. As a Territorial it wasn't something we wore very often so it won't be getting worn again as its no longer one of the orders of Dress
