It's the other way round over here (UK), the feds all refuse to die, whilst we rebs enjoy the challenge of making it look good.
We even once decided to have some fun and now have a "best death" contest which is held annually where the C/O provides a crate (his crates hold 150 bottles, he works for a brewery) of beer to the company that has the best death.

Back in the days when I did Union infantry, our tune (from the old "Weebles" commercials) was, "Rebels wobble but they don't fall down!"

Most likely there's the same problem in the UK as over here; too many Johnnies and not enough Yanks!

Great picture. I've always thought I'd be good at playing one of the dead soldiers... not too strenuous.

I used to be in a outdoor civil war play and they made me throw myself down a hill when I died, I was covered in bruises for all 6 weeks that we showed, but if I didn't go down hard and roll, I got stepped on during the hand to hand fighting, such fun. Though I have to say, nobody ever figured out that half the army were girls either. The best was when I even faced the crowd, hair in confederate curls... still didn't get caught, probably because of the 2 pistols, bowie knife, calvary saber, and rifle w/ bayonet I was carrying.

    Good times.

Quite the opposite, we tend to be outnumbered by the Yanks most of the time.
