Actually Freedom Lover,

"I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here"

I got from a recoveing alcoholic in Phoenix when I first got sober. He had a lot of sober years and he'd say that at the end of an AA meeting. And we'd laugh and agree because we did too.

Now maybe HE got it from Yogi Berra....don't know....

But it sure fits for me and this forum too.

Yes it does. In spades. (BTW, all I meant was that it is a Berraism, and a good one).

Actually I think the Berraism was; "I feel a whole lot more like I do right now than I ever have before." (I had a college roommate who quoted that often.)

But back to the topic of this thread. I joined several months ago, almost immediately after coming across this site. What a wealth of information! I have learned so much about kilting here and met some very interesting, (term losely used,) people on line and a few in person. Thank you to all.

I have belonged to this forum for about 2 months. Always wanted a kilt and rented one at halloween. Since then purchsed a casual from USA Kilts and pleased with it. Just ordered one from Burnett-Struth in Barrie, Canada after hearing good words about the BC tartan kilt. It is a 5 yard 16 oz. casual wool and made on site. Look forward to Christmas and New Years wear. Enjoy the content of this forum and look forward to it on a daily basis.

According to my entry in the Memberlist I joined on 1st March 2004, which probably puts me as one of the first 100 members of X Marks. Try as I might, however, I cannot remember how I found or was introduced to this amazing forum.

Although I have been wearing the kilt for 57 years, and forsook trousers altogether 8½ years ago, I have learned a great deal by being a member of X Marks and have made a lot of extremely good friends around the world (many of whom I have met more than once).

The fantastic success of X Marks the Scot has to be due to Hank's vision, the 'quality' of the membership and the unstinting (and unenviable) work of the Moderators. My thanks and respect to you all.

[PS: Kilt No.86 in my Kilt Kollection (my first from this kiltmaker) is now eagerly awaited from Redshank Scotland and might just arrive before Christmas.)

Assuming is always risky, but it is easy to assume that these are the best of times to be alive, only history will tell, so many fronts, so many crises, who is to say? And yet for those of us conscious of the world around us, what can be more pivotal? As the bumper sticker says: Think globally, act locally. May the road rise before you, yaadayh, yaadayh, yaadayh.
