I have one Scottish Handsewn 7 1/2 -8 yard, 13 oz. wool kilt in the Black Watch tartan. I like it a lot but not as much as my Galbraith Ancient 16 oz. 5 yard kilt made by our own Matt Newsome. I guess the reason is that while the Black Watch kilt fits me well, it was a used (but beautifully reconditioned) kilt given to me in trade. Where my Matt Newsome kilt was made to measure for me. For the record I don't where a kilt is made is very important, it's the quality of the kiltmaker and materials that really count.

My Matt Newsome kilt has only two straps and when the Black Watch kilt was being restored the third hip strap was removed. I very much prefer my kilts to not have the supurflous third strap. I don't think it makes them any less a "Tank".
