Ron, my first kilted Christmas didn't work out! I had ordered a kilt from Clansman Knitwear in Sep 2003. The idea was to get it for Christmas. I had everything ready waiting for the kilt. Didn't arrive until the second week in January 2004. So it was the Christmas kilt that wasn't. So, by default my first Christmas kilted was 2004. Enjoyed each Christmas kilted since and looking forward to this one. Cheers!

My first kilted Christmas was in 2000. I got my kilt in September of that year and my family really wanted to see it. So I took my kilt with me when I flew home and wore to Christmas dinner at my grandparents. It was a hit.

We spend every Christmas in Canada at my in-laws (my family lives here so we see them all the time so we hit Canada at Christmas when everyone is together) so 2005 was my first Kilted Kristmas. No one notices other than to tell me it looks nice. Christmas Eve was at my MIL's and I wore my Carolina Box Pleat from Matt Newsome and Christmas Day was at my Brother-in-law's in a USAK Casual in the Ireland's National.
This year it will be Christmas Eve in my Carolina and Christmas day in my Queen of the South eight yard (ex-hire) from Wilson's in Dumfries. It's WARM. No one even pays attention any more. It's just me.

I'm not sure it this year will count as I'll be getting my first kilt as a Christmas present. I plan on wearing that day though.

1991 was my first kilted Christmas. Both sides of my family chipped in to give me my Fraser Hunting 8 yarder. I had been wearing a homemade acrylic Campbell one before that. It wasn't very good but it was the best I could do back then. I've been wearing that tank ever since although only for special occasions, games, parties and stuff.

Mine was Christmas 2005 in Sierra Vista, AZ. (I was visiting my Dad and my sister flew in from Ohio.) I was wearing my SWK standard Black Stewart. I remember being uncomfortable in wool kilt hose as it was nearly 80 F outside (not normal Oregon winter weather )

Christmas 1984, when I was ten. My grandmother made Graham of Montrose kilts for me and two of my cousins. Of course, we hated them at the time, but were forced to wear them. The neighbours got the answer to "the question" a few times that day! I still have the kilt today and cherish it.

Mine was in 2003. I only had one kilt at the time which was my Black Watch 4-yd Bear Kilt. It was a mostly positive experience, although a few family members didn't know quite what to think.
