I will try that with a blue shirt then because that's one of the colors I can safely wear, thanks. I have to stay away from orange and yellow for the most part, and any bright colors because they stand out in an aughful way on me. I really can't wear those bright red tartans as pretty as they are.

Exactly right, Ted. The muted pastels are nice. When you look at the tartan you'll notice a slight blue color that a light blue shirt or some Lovat Blue hose brings out. I like the tans and greens also, plus the weight of the material. So for me this kilt was a real good purchase and I will continue to wear it for some time. When out on the trail or going cross country I like to blend in with the scenery (except during Elk or Deer season) and the Lamont muted/weathered colors surely help.
