Why are Ghillie brogues so expensive?

Back to the price issue, and shipping my one and only order with them was a LOT....but I wonder why they don't say, "HOW WIDE?"

Have seen resellers call D widths "wide."

I used to have the opposite problem. When I was younger I took an A width and there are manufacturers that call a C width narrow. Luckily there has been a confluence of factors - my feet have gotten wider and I've started putting inserts in the shoes for comfort.
